The Courage to Tell The Truth

We all have life lessons to learn–Spirit lessons. One of mine is to stand in my truth, and to speak it. I have not yet mastered this lesson, so I must revisit this over and over. Each time my self-ness threatens to be inconvenient for someone else, to hurt their feelings or disappoint them, then I ponder or panic or procrastinate over my decision to say what is. I have come to see that each of these choices links to my Light: how brightly will I allow myself to shine in this lifetime? Will I consider or compassion or constrict what I am for the comfort of others, even when it is truly in nobody’s best interest? I have come to see that each little choice to be affects what is and what can be.  And so I do it, but my heart is in my mouth.

Thanks for your comments on truth telling. I feel strongly that it is so important. Today I spoke my truth and then have gone through all the agnozing mind chatter of whether the person was angry, hurt, etc. I am getting better at speaking my truth but it surely is not a popular stand. And Brazilian culture, like Asia, is to never give a person bad news or tell them something you know they do not want to hear. They find my directness rude. I find their way dishonest and lacking integrity. Not easy for either of us. Here are two poems I wrote this month on the subject:

    Alix –

Your ode to “The Courage to Tell the Truth” – is surely a Spirit-filled lesson for all of us to learn and abide by in order to Speak our own Truths of our higher self … Thank you for posting!

Soo interesting! There is a synergy at work in the universe. Well, we knew that. Specifically, I was listening to Episode 19 of TCLG Radio and astrologer Kathy Biehl of was talking about the upcoming week as being a time to speak the truth, even harsh truths–the real truth.

I caught the show on a download, so I had not even heard it when I wrote this post. Her thought of the week: “The truth of the matter is….fill in the blank.”
If you’re interested, her AstroInsights are about halfway through each show.
