Running Earth

 I am grateful

for the tea cup cradled warm

between my hands,

for my two feet planted

nice-and-flat,

inches deep in Mother Earth.

The spring green curls forth

between my toes.

An insomnolent earthworm

tickles the belly of my soles.

I am grateful

for the ultimate self-fullness

of this time alone;

I am grateful for this practice—

running earth.
