Shedding Out

So much of my journey now is about growth, growing up, and stepping into the space of  now.

I can shed my resentments

Like a cat flicks water off its whiskers;

Crawl out of my childhood wounds—their shell

No longer holds me.

I can see

The rich compost of past lives

And the tree that is my present

With all its needs fulfilled.
