Carry On

Oh, carry!

Do not carry

Those you have loved.

For this, I have done penance in

A hundred hundred lifetimes.

Who am I to feel

My job is to bear

The weight of your woes?

Oh, hubris!

Misguided ego, blessed

That I should live so long to know

The only weight I am to lift

Is that of my own path

To god,

Which in itself suffices

To challenge my strength,

Which in itself

Is worthy of my unswerving

Wise words, indeed. I have done this all too often but hopefully have learned not to do it any more, or at least, seldom. Thanks, Alix. hugs, pat

Like you, I am a work in progress. No lesson seems ever completely learned, just mostly learned!
