Rabbit Mind

For you know.

You know this information.

But you have

Tucked it away,

Neglected to simmer it

Into the broth of daily life.

And so, when the gong of pain

Is sounded,

It is loud


Terminal enough

To catch the attention of

Your rabbit mind,

Able to interrupt the running,

The leaving of tracks in tall grass.

Your pain demands


Like a startled rabbit in

The shadow of a hawk:
